Christopher Romine

Christopher Romine serves as the Executive Assistant to the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) Director and, with considerable delegated responsibility, assists the Director, the Deputy Director, and all Division Chiefs of NIC in the general management of the Institute. He began his career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1997 as a correctional officer and worked in areas of increasing responsibility at five federal prisons in three states, as well as BOP headquarters. His work at headquarters, to include Deputy Chief of Staff to the Director of the Bureau of Prisons and external audit liaison between BOP and the Department of Justice Office of Inspector General (OIG)/Government Accountability Office (GAO), led to his current assignment. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice (Corrections) from Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas.
